Fault Condition – Bleed Through

A coldwave descent into analog decay and controlled overload.

I am excited to introduce a brand new musical project called Fault Condition. Designed as an outlet for darkwave and coldwave compositions that do not quite fit into the worlds of Plastic Horizon or Before After Again, the project debuts with its first single, Bleed Through. Running at a steady 130 bpm, the track is a purely electronic composition built on stark synthetic textures, heavy low end, and a deep appreciation for the electronic music of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Without lyrics or guitars to guide the narrative, the track relies on repetition, pressure, and tonal shifts to create a cinematic and slightly dystopian atmosphere. The mix sits against the limiter for nearly the entire run time, giving it a dense quality rather than a conventional dynamic build. It evokes the feeling of obsolete technology and corrupted data, mirroring the black floppy disk imagery of the cover art beautifully.

The Architecture of Fault Condition’s Bleed Through

The arrangement is an exercise in austere, mechanical tension. Built from 29 tracks of synthesizers and drum machines, the production features heavily utilized vintage emulations like the Cherry Audio KR55C, Aly James Lab’s VProm, Baby Audio’s BA-1, and U-He’s Diva. The piece maintains a disciplined pulse throughout, with a noticeable breakdown arriving around the 2:13 mark before the signal audibly brightens and degrades into the outro.

At just under four minutes, the track is available to stream and download directly from Bandcamp below. A Spotify embed will be added when available.
